Quick Synopsis so far:
CID discovers Sam Tyler again in 1980s, but washed ashore from a river like the one that took him the DI is offering no explanations for his original disappearance or his return. Alex is confused by Sam's timing but his return is coupled by a new set of voices and she is convinced that the DI's existence signals her own escape from her dream world. There's no time to ask, however, as the team is beset with a perplexing set of disappearances. The case gets even darker when one of the missing girls winds up dead at Edgehampton, a secret government facility for testing nuclear weapons that Gene and Alex have an all-too recent history with. While Sam's behavior turns aggressive towards Gene, Alex is left to put the pieces together herself after her new voices warn her of impending danger.
